The subjects that I choose to work from are the figure, horse racing, still life, and some landscape. The figure is my main source of inspiration in that it represents all that we are familiar with in a wide variety of form, function and emotional content.
But, all things contain and reflect energy and motion. Rather than comment on the surface qualities of subject matter, it is to reveal that which is contained within that is important. It is to display the living aspects of all things in a balanced composition that will reveal their true nature and give reason for their existence.
I work with a variety of tools. Although I do paint, my work is more closely associated with drawing. I work intuitively. I respond to what I see. I do not predetermine.
